Product Description
The dozer uses a hydrostatic drive system and a load-management system that automatically reduces track speed (increasing torque) as load on the blade increases, and increases track speed (reducing torque) with lighter loads. The unit also features a redesigned undercarriage with improved track frames, idlers, sprockets, rollers, and extended-life SALT HD tracks, as well as a reinforced mainframe. Three track configurations and multiple blade configurations allow transport of the machine without permits and provide optimal flotation for varied applications.
Control customization for the 650M allows setting both steering and shuttle sensitivity to smooth, moderate, or aggressive modes, allowing operators to adjust machine responsiveness to individual preferences or to match ground conditions. The 650M features a “cab-forward” design with a standard ROPS canopy, and an optional ROPS cab with floor-to-ceiling, straight-panel glass doors provides enhanced visibility to the blade. The sloped hood and the position of the seat in the cab are aimed at increasing visibility to the ground in front of the machine. An optional sealed and pressurized cab helps keep dust and debris out of the operating environment.
Vibration has been reduced, compared with previous-generation models by “retuning” of both the undercarriage and the cab mounts, says Case, and in-cab sound levels are reduced to 73 dB(A).
Design considerations for the new model also included a box-style C-frame and an updated cooling package to keep engine and hydraulic-system temperatures in an optimum range. Compared with the predecessor model, the 650M dozer has increased drawbar pull (39,086 pounds).
All daily service checkpoints, including hydraulic components, filters, and electrical components are accessible from the ground and require no tools for access. The 650M is covered by the Case ProCare program, which includes a three-year/3,000-hour warranty, three-year/3,000-hour planned maintenance contract, and a three-year Advanced Case SiteWatch telematics system.
